Local Compacts

The discourse between the Surrey Compact and Surrey County Council shows that all news, even bad news, is worth sharing.

North Lincolnshire Council has shown commitment to its voluntary and community sector partners by working with them to ensure that where cuts to their funding have been made, they have been done so in a fair, sustainable and Compact compliant manner. 

The relationship between the voluntary and community sector in Hertfordshire has come under considerable strain since Hertfordshire County Council reviewed its funding of the voluntary and community sector following the 2010 Comprehensive Spending Review (CSR 2010). 

Sue Beer, Dover Compact Officer, and her colleagues have been working with Kent Fire and Rescue Service. They have been exploring how cross sector working can benefit both the Voluntary and Community Sector (VCS) and the Fire Service. Positive steps have been taken to create a close relationship which improves the safety of local people.

The commitment shown to its partnership with the voluntary and community sector (VCS) by the London Borough of Lewisham aspires to more than just working together. It recognises that where the sectors work in true partnership their priorities become mutual and the boundaries between them become less distinct. 

The relationship between Watford Borough Council and the voluntary and community sector groups it funds is built on openness and trust,  which has ensured that their partnership has survived despite facing the full force of the financial storm.
