Secretary of State for Health encourages all NHS organisations to sign up to local Compacts

Compact Voice recently wrote to the Health Secretary Andrew Lansley to express concerns we had heard from some local groups, that changes to the health policy landscape weren’t recognising the role that the Compact – both nationally and locally – should have.

Compact Voice respond to Third Sector editorial on Merlin Standard

Compact Voice has written to Third Sector magazine in response to a recent editorial about the Merlin Standard and partnership working between the voluntary and community and private sectors.

Yesterday in a debate in the House of Lords about funding to the voluntary and community sector, the Compact was mentioned as a key mechanism to help both the voluntary and community and statutory sectors.

Localism Act becomes law

Nick Hurd, the Minister for Civil Society, has published an open letter outlining the government’s policy direction for the voluntary and community sector.

Compact Voice welcome the letter, which provides an update on the strategic framework in which the government’s policy announcements sit.

SOVA signs up to Compact

National charity SOVA has signed up to the Compact.
  
SOVA (Supporting Others through Volunteer Action) have developed a Compact-compliant preferred provider process for new tendering opportunities and contracting. As a result, SOVA have secured Compact Voice’s Compliance Mark.

National Audit Office reviewing government’s implementation of the Compact
