The plan makes reference to Compact principles throughout, particularly Principle 2 which outlines the need for effective and transparent design and developments of policies, programmes and public services.
The Open Government Partnership (OGP) National Action Plan has been developed by government in partnership with a range of civil society organisations, including Compact Voice. It sets out a series of commitments the UK government is making to improve transparency, participation and accountability.
The National Action Plan has been structured to complement the themes of the OGP’s annual summit 2013, which took place from October 30 – November 1. The 5 themes of the plan are:
The Plan’s aim is to encourage accountability and transparency. An important element of the ‘next steps’ outlined in the Plan is how government and civil society will continue to work in partnership with each other to deliver this aim. Compact Voice will continue to take an active role in this partnership and will post updates whenever there are developments.
