Compact Week 2015

Compact Week 2015Compact Week promotes and celebrates partnership working between the voluntary sector and government.

This year Compact Week takes place 2-6 November.

Compact Week 2015 theme

The theme for Compact Week 2015 is "Working together in a new commissioning landscape".

We’re encouraging local voluntary organisations to use Compact Week as an opportunity to talk about their engagement with public bodies, including Clinical Commissioning Groups (CCGs), Police and Crime Commissioners (PCCs) and Local Enterprise Partnerships (LEPs), as well as local authorities, and the impact that working together in partnership has had in your local area.

How you can get involved

During Compact Week we want to tell people about what partnership working is achieving across England. We think it’s a great time to encourage new organisations and local commissioning bodies to get on board with their local Compact and sign up to its principles, and to reiterate how valuable a local Compact is for providing a framework for supporting and strengthening existing partnerships. Practical ways you can do this might include:

Host a Compact Week event

An event can be a good way of helping to raise the profile of your local Compact, and create awareness of the benefits of partnership working.

For example, why not host an information session for your PCC, or ask a representative from your CCG to visit your organisation and find out first-hand how you’re addressing local health issues? Our website has a selection of presentations on engaging with ‘new commissioners’ which you can use free of charge.

Put the Compact on the agenda

Adding the Compact as an agenda item at an existing meeting during Compact Week, or in the weeks before, can help to ensure your local Compact stays relevant and maintains its currency.
Many areas will take the opportunity to attend a cross-organisational meeting and provide a short overview of what their Compact is, who is involved with it and what its benefits are. Again, our website has a selection of Compact related presentations which you can use for this.

Create a flyer about your local Compact

Help to raise the profile of your local Compact by creating a flyer which includes details about what your local Compact is, and some of the positive things it has helped to bring about. Place this flyer on your reception desk, pin it to notice boards and hand it out at events.

Write up a case study

Highlighting good practice and demonstrating its impact is essential to getting key stakeholders engaged in partnership working. Why not use Compact Week as a chance to write up a case study exploring an aspect of your partnership working that has gone well in the last year?
Compact Voice are always looking for good examples of cross-sector working which we can publicise on our website, so if you have got a case study worth sharing, get in touch. You can view our library of case studies here.

Recruit Compact Champions

Compact Champions can help to raise awareness of the Compact and induct new staff, so having one in the key organisations in your local area can be important to the success of your local Compact.

Put an item in your newsletter

Compact Week is a good time to talk about your local Compact and the achievements of partnership working where you are, so why not add an item about it to your next newsletter, write to your local newspaper or publish a blog on your website?
Whatever you get up to during Compact Week, we’d love to hear about it, so do get in touch. If you send us a photograph we’ll also add your activity to our Compact Week Pinterest board.

What Compact Voice are planning

The Compact Awards are the showpiece event of Compact Week, and will take place on Wednesday 4 November at Coin Street Conference Centre in London. Awards will be given to people, organisations and partnerships that demonstrate the very best of cross-sector partnership working.
Nominations for the awards are now closed. The shortlist and winners will be announced on our website in the coming weeks.
We’ll also be announcing more activities during Compact Week, so check our website for further updates.
