NCVO have published a new guide, which makes a series of recommendations for local authorities on the ways they can support the sector and alleviate strain by helping organisations adapt to any changes in funding.

Sector Chief Executives call for more leadership on the Compact

Compact Voice has today issued a letter to Eric Pickles, Secretary of State for Communities and Local Government. The letter highlights the high levels of support for the Compact from both sectors, which was a key finding of Compact Voice’s recent annual survey.  However, the survey also revealed the need for more leadership at the top - as a result, sector leaders have written to Eric Pickles raising this issue.

Compact Voice has today published the results of a comprehensive survey into the state of local Compacts.
 
The survey is the first in an ongoing annual commitment to improve understanding of – and engagement with – local Compacts across England. The results provide a mixed, but encouraging, picture across the country.

Compact Voice releases information about cuts in funding to the voluntary and community sector

There has been a significant amount of recent scrutiny on the impact of cuts to the voluntary and community sector, and Compact Voice has been working with areas to try and understand the extent and the impact that such cuts have had on local partnerships.
 
Earlier this year, we submitted two Freedom of Information requests to 351 local authorities in England, and the results of these requests are now available.

Government respond to equalities 'Red Tape Challenge' queries: Share your thoughts

The Government Equality Office have responded to a letter from Compact Voice about the 'Red Tape Challenge' into equalities. In the letter we raised concerns about the exercise taking the place of a full and comprehensive consultation into any proposed changes to the Equality Act.
