Policy landscape clarified in Open Letter

Nick Hurd, the Minister for Civil Society, has published an open letter outlining the government’s policy direction for the voluntary and community sector.

The Department for Communities and Local Government (CLG) has today published guidance to local authorities on how to protect voluntary and community groups from disproportionate cuts to their funding.

There has been a significant amount of recent scrutiny on the impact of cuts to the voluntary and community sector, and Compact Voice has been working with areas to try and understand the extent and the impact that such cuts have had on local partnerships.
 
Earlier this year, we submitted two Freedom of Information requests to 351 local authorities in England, and the results of these requests are now available.
