Compact Week is here!

compact awardsWelcome to Compact Week, the annual celebration promoting and recognising the Compact, the longstanding agreement that sets out shared commitments and guidelines for partnership working between government and the voluntary sector.

The week engages voluntary organisations both locally and nationally, government departments, local authorities and other public sector partners working with the Compact locally or nationally.

We have a range of activities underway, so do check back here for updates and announcements throughout the week.

Compact Week conference

We're looking forward to catching up with many of you at our Compact Week conference on Wednesday November 7 2012.

If you can't attend but want to keep in touch on the day, we'll be tweeting about the conference via our twitter account (@compactvoice), the hashtag is #compactconf.

Compact Awards

Following the conference on Wednesday, we'll be announcing the winners of the 2012 Compact Awards.

The winners will be posted here on Wednesday evening, so do check our website then.

We'll be publicising all of the shortlisted entries, which have been of a very high quality this year. The nominations we received showcased some of the excellent work that is being done to build strong partnerships between sectors all over England.

Compact Week Asks

Every year, Compact Voice puts forward a series of 'asks', which Compact groups and partners can easily undertake to help promote and recognise their Compact. These are all quick and easy to achieve tasks, which can have a positive impact on Compact working locally. We encourage all areas to consider undertaking them.

If you are working on any of our asks this year, do let us know how you get on.

Compact Voice Manager Tom Elkins has written a blog about this year's asks - you can also read more about them - and Compact Week - at

Finally, do let us know what you're organising for Compact Week in your area, we'd love to hear from you.
