Communities Minister urges councils to give voluntary sector a leading role
The Department for Communities and Local Government (CLG) has written to local authorities, informing them that there is “no excuse for leaving the voluntary and community sector behind” when it comes to funding allocations.
In a move welcomed by Compact Voice, Communities Minister Andrew Stunell has written to every local authority in the country, reminding them of the expertise and excellence that the voluntary sector can bring in delivering services.
Stunell highlighted Compact Voice and CLG’s joint briefing on Best Value Guidance and the Compact, which provides practical views on how the guidance can be best used to ensure effective partnerships.
