We are the voice of the voluntary sector on the Compact — an agreement between the sector and the Government to ensure better working together. We provide training and resources, and represent the sector's concerns to the government.

Where are Local Compacts effective across England?

This map shows where in England Local Compacts are currently working best, based on telephone interviews with local groups and our own knowledge of Local Compact performance. Note that County flags look at Compact performance at County level – and not at the performance of Local Compacts at district level within this County.

We’ve marked these exemplary areas with a Green Flag (find out more). This reflects a productive relationship between public bodies and voluntary groups in the area. We’ll also be Red-flagging some areas where Compact working and implementation is poor (find out more), and adding more green flags over the coming weeks (suggest your area). You can discuss the map on our Compact Voice Online Network forum or view all the areas as a list.
