Bromley

Bromley is leading the way on local Compact refresh. If you are looking for a model to shaping your own Compact review then their approach should impress you.

Bromley are among the first areas to set about reflecting the national Compact refresh with their own Local Compact. This began in October, when Community Links Bromley gave a clear, relevant and ambitious brief to the Local Strategic Partnership (LSP) on taking their Compact forward. Now, the national refresh will be used to highlight themes to be explored, in a comprehensive review of Bromley’s Compact.

The partners in Bromley are developing a practical Compact which covers their local issues and priorities. Local Area Agreement (LAA) targets, such as those for volunteering, have been flagged alongside local priorities like developing a thriving sector and working with both unfunded and funded groups. Personalised services will also be progressed as a Compact issue, while Compact-proofed commissioning is to be introduced.

Bromley Compact will be driven by champions, steered by the Compact implementation group and accountable to the LSP. But they are determined to avoid a paper and process model, and will keep the focus on being practical and achieving outcomes.
