Calderdale
Calderdale have revealed the secret of their Compact success; developing tools that local partners across England have been rushing to get in 2009.
Winner of a Compact Excellence Award and selected as a "What Makes a Successful Local Compact" study area last year, Calderdale is building quite a national reputation. Not only has the Calderdale Compact Toolkit captured the attention of local partners around England but they have produced a Compact Audit tool which targets performance on volunteering, consultation and funding.
“The Toolkit has made our Compact work by getting people to understand what it means in practice,” said Calderdale Voluntary Action Soo Nevison, who is now also the Compact Voice Leader for Yorkshire and Humber Region. “It makes life easy and backs up what people are saying when they engage. It’s the reason why we can get on and do things."
