Aylesbury Vale

Aylesbury CVS and Volunteer Centre's Annual General Meeting in 2009 recruited eleven new County Compact Champions.

Vale Volunteers logoWhen Vale Volunteers held their AGM on 14 October, it was about more than simply fifty people in Aylesbury Vale discovering what Buckinghamshire Compact can do. Eleven were so keen to make it happen they volunteered as Champions for their organisations. Participants used the relationship poll form from the Compact Voice Electronic Toolkit. A majority of 85% expect relations between groups and public bodies to improve in 2010, and half already work well together to achieve better outcomes for the community. Action identified to support a thriving sector includes:

·    Public bodies to consult better, especially with small groups, through improving communication and making it more of a two-way experience.

·   Groups to play their representational role more effectively, by getting involved in locality forums and supplying evidence to public bodies.
