Understanding, Measuring & Reporting your Impact

Measuring and demonstrating your impact is important, and this training event will help you understand how to measure and report your economic, environmental and social impact. A number of frameworks will be considered including the Social Return On Investment (SROI) framework and the Balanced Scorecard. Find out more and book


Whose Voice Is It Anyway?

When: Thursday 11 March 2010, 10am - 4pm
Where: City of Birmingham Symphony Orchestra Centre, Berkley Street Birmingham B1 2LF

If you are from a local infrastructure organisations interested in getting the voice of local groups heard, a community advocate, voluntary and community sector development worker, activist or volunteer, this event will help you find practical ways to influence and communicate more effectively. The day will include live theatre, social media, face-to-face conversations and networking.

Speakers include Stuart Etherington, NCVO, Dead Earnest Theatre, and contributions from Oxfam, The Young Foundation, Carnegie UK Trust.

Places are £49 (inc VAT) for voluntary organisations, £60 (inc VAT) for statutory and private organisations - book on the NAVCA website.


Future Communities, Future Engagement

Where: Holiday Inn Bloomsbury, London

This free, national conference will feature workshops on mainstreaming community empowerment and the role of elected members, as well as keynote speakers from the public and voluntary sectors. It will be of particular interest to Local authority and partner body policy makers and practitioners, and elected members. Topics will include:

  • how communities are changing, and the impact on engagement policy and practice
  • innovative authorities and their successful engagement initiatives
  • improvement tools developed by the Network of Empowering Authorities (NEA)
