Compact Awards 2015: Send us your nominations

Compact Awards 2015 logoLast week we opened the nominations process for the Compact Awards, our annual celebration of the very best partnership working across England.
The Compact Awards give us a chance to take stock of the achievements of cross sector partnerships during the past year, feel inspired by some remarkable success stories, and possibly turn the spotlight on some unsung heroes.
This year we’re asking for nominations in six categories:
Compact Advancing Equality Award –this award recognises partnerships whose work has advanced equality of opportunity, or helped to tackle discrimination.
Compact Engagement Award –this award recognises partnerships which have sought to understand the needs of a community, leading to services which fully take these into account.
Compact Impact Award –this award recognises partnerships which have brought about positive changes to their community.
Compact Innovation Award –this award recognises partnerships which have used creative solutions to meet challenges.
Compact Leadership Award –this award recognises individuals or groups who have consistently championed the Compact and partnership working.
Local Compact Partnership Award –this award recognises groups who have demonstrated ongoing commitment to engaging with the local Compact and local partners.
There are many good reasons to enter a nomination. Previous years' successful nominees have found that receiving an award in one of our six categories can have a positive effect on their organisation. Not only are existing partnerships strengthened, but award winners tend to find their credibility enhanced when seeking future funding opportunities, or for public bodies, when seeking new voluntary sector partners. An award can also help you garner press coverage, raising the profile of your organisation and strengthening awareness of your local Compact.
For Compact Voice, the Compact Awards are about so much more than just the ceremony itself. Not only do they allow us to take a step back and admire the outstanding work the voluntary sector and government do in partnership, the nominations gathered are essential for helping to inform our work over the coming year.
Your success stories also enable us to continue our work of championing Compact working and the voluntary sector’s role in public service delivery. By telling us how the work of voluntary organisations has helped statutory bodies achieve their aims and deliver real results for communities and individuals, we can make the case for the voluntary sector as indispensable partners for national and local government – all the more important as many charities face an increasingly challenging funding environment.
We also look to turn the best nominations into case studies, so we can share your experiences. It's in this spirit, and in the context of a commissioning environment radically altered in the last few years, that we'd particularly welcome nominations detailing successful partnerships involving new commissioning bodies, such as Clinical Commissioning Groups (CCGs), Police and Crime Commissioners (PCCs) and Local Enterprise Partnerships (LEPs).
The awards ceremony will be taking place in November during Compact Week. We want to make this year’s Compact Awards a fantastic event where the amazing work your partnerships have been doing in the past year gets the attention it deserves. To do this, we need to hear from you. You can find out more about the Awards, including past winners and how to submit a nomination, here. Hopefully we’ll see you at the ceremony in November!
